Responsibilities*

  1. Leadership and Management:

  2. Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to the Talent Acquisition team, consisting of Talent Acquisition Consultants and Recruitment and Sourcing Specialists.

  3. Ensure team members are effectively trained and supported in their roles.

  4. Lead the selection process for new Talent Acquisition Consultants and Recruitment and Sourcing Specialists as needed.

  5. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth.

  6. Ensure adherence to best practices for Talent Acquisition

  7. Talent Acquisition Strategy:

  8. Partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition, develop and implement innovative recruiting strategies to attract top talent.

  9. Align recruiting strategies with Michigan Medicine's goals to ensure a high-quality and diverse workforce.

  10. Monitor and analyze recruitment trends and metrics to improve processes and enhance efficiency.

  11. Recruitment Processes:

  12. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.

  13. Handle a requisition load, primarily of senior leadership positions or other high-profile openings.

  14. Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and internal policies.

  15. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on hiring best practices.

  16. Candidate Experience:

  17. Ensure a positive candidate experience through effective communication and a seamless recruitment process.

  18. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

  19. Partnerships and Collaboration:

  20. Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, such as schools, professional organizations, and recruitment firms.

  21. Represent Michigan Medicine at recruitment events, job fairs, and industry conferences.

  22. Continuous Improvement:

  23. Identify opportunities to improve the Talent Acquisition process and implement innovative solutions.

  24. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.

Required Qualifications*

  1. Education and Experience:

  2. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent acquisition

  4. Minimum of 2 years management or supervisory experience

  5. Skills and Competencies:

  6. Strong leadership and team management skills.

  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  8. Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.

  9. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies.

  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  11. High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
