Job Summary

This position is responsible for the design, development, sourcing, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for the Terumo Cardiovascular Ann Arbor site to support learning infrastructure to produce effective training.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

  • Act as instructional designer in design and development of new in-house training programs working with Subject Matter Experts to ensure valid content and effective delivery method, assessing and providing direction to external training providers as necessary.

  • Conduct and present internal training programs as necessary.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training and utilize results for continuous improvement.

  • Serve as primary contact point and support for training activities. Manage course enrollment, rosters and completion activities. Ensure content and supporting information is up to date. Ensure instructional materials are up to date and staged for usage in any training programs including training manuals, slides, instructor guides and related communications and resolve day-to-day problems and issues related to training activities (e.g., enrollment, classroom set up, logistics, etc.)

  • Prepare and present status reports and summaries of training activities.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Conduct trainer certification and other soft skill courses as requested.

  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, techniques, and delivery platforms for training.

  • Create related Quality Systems documents as needed.

  • Manage logistics for off-site meetings including venue coordination, catering, materials management, vendor selection/verification, and instructor prep. Update course records and files as needed.

  • Assist Associates with finding appropriate learning opportunities as requested.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to the training specialists and LMS administrators.

  • Distribute internal and external communications of learning events through various media.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

Requires a four-year college degree in Training and Development or a related area and a minimum of five years of training or instructional design experience. Intermediate computer software skills, i.e., Microsoft Office. Regulated industry training experience preferred. ASTD certification a plus.

This is a hybrid position that will require onsite presence a few days a week.
