Job Summary

The lab is seeking energetic, driven, well trained, and productive scientists to join our dynamic group and make a difference in aggressive cancers through our cancer biomarker and drug development efforts, with a focus on ALK+ lung cancers. The ideal candidates will be highly motivated recent graduates who are ready to advance into a postdoctoral position and make a 2-4 year commitment. Candidates will have a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Bioinformatics, Pharmacology, or related Biological Science. The successful candidate must be well read and organized, fluent in written and oral English, be able to analyze data and results from experiments, and be an independent thinker, but also a team player. The individuals will be responsible for leading collaborative research projects focused on translation from patient-derived organoid models to guided precision oncology. The lab has established pipelines to obtain patient-derived material directly from the operating room for various tumor types, including lung, breast, breast metastasis, locally-invasive bladder, and brain metastasis from multiple organs. These precious samples are tested with therapies and characterized in real time, delivering information on tumor vulnerability in 7-10 days. The individuals will work with experienced researchers to test and characterize patient-derived organoids with the ultimate goal of translation of pre-clinical findings to the clinic and understanding the mechanistic bases of drug sensitivity and resistance.
