On With Life Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - PRN Outpatient in Ankeny, United States

What do Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) do?

Under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Services, and in partnership with other members of the rehabilitation team, the PTA provides professional therapy services to persons with with brain injury or other neurological conditions. Services include addressing the following person served needs:

  • cognitive

  • mobility

  • psychosocial

  • positioning

  • motor functioning

As a transdisciplinary team member, this position also assists with:

  • reviewing rehabilitation plans and making recommendations

  • providing education and support to persons served and families

This PRN position primarily works weekdays M-F, around 32 hours per week, between the hours of 8am and 6pm. This position will fill maternity leave in June, July, August and partial September.

An excellent candidate for this position meets the following criteria:

  • Is willing to be a daily champion for our persons served

  • Is team-oriented, a lifelong learner, and an excellent communicator in all formats: in-person, phone, email, etc.

  • Is a positive and compassionate person

  • Is a servant leader who puts others before her/himself, treating all with dignity & respect

  • Has some personal or professional experience with individuals with disabilities or special needs

  • Is comfortable working with computers and electronic records

  • Has experience teaching independent living/daily living skills, sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills

  • Is an excellent educator and passionate about providing encouragement

Qualified applicants must have:

  • An Iowa Physical Therapist Assistant license

  • Ability to maintain CPR certification

  • Must be able to obtain or currently have a valid Iowa chauffeur’s/class D3 drivers license
