On With Life Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Ankeny, United States

This PRN Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position assists with filling in periodic scheduling gaps due to high patient volumes or employee leaves. Available hours are typically between 8a-6p, with occasional slight variations to meet unique scheduling needs. On rare occasions you may have the opportunity to travel to other On With Life clinic locations.

This position is eligible for an annual cost-of-living adjustment; the hired employee may also participate in our 401k plan and has access to our employee assistance program.

What do Occupational Therapists (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) do?

The OT or COTA provides professional occupational therapy services to persons with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions. As a member of the transdisciplinary team, the OTR or COTA reviews and informs the rehabilitation plans of persons served. They provide direct treatment in the areas of:

  • independent living/daily living skills

  • sensory motor

  • cognitive and psychosocial skills

  • personal-social development

An excellent candidate for this OTR or COTA position meets the following criteria:

  • Is willing to be a daily champion for our persons served

  • Is team-oriented, a lifelong learner, and an excellent communicator in all formats: in-person, phone, email, etc.

  • Is a positive and compassionate person Is a servant leader who puts others before her/himself, treating all with dignity & respect

  • Has some personal or professional experience with individuals with disabilities or special needs

  • Is comfortable working with computers and electronic records

  • Has experience with areas of independent living/daily living skills, sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills

  • Is an excellent educator and passionate about providing encouragement

Qualified applicants must have:

  • An Iowa Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license

  • Ability to maintain CPR certification

  • The federal government requires that our employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (typically 2 doses), or alternatively request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption. We may not be able to proceed with employment if you cannot fulfill one of those options.
