Lauridsen Group Inc. Research Assistant - Proliant Health & Biologicals in Ankeny, Iowa

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our research team as a Research Assistant. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting experiments and collecting data in a laboratory setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in scientific research and laboratory techniques.

This is a full-time position based in our Ankeny, Iowa headquarters in our pilot laboratory facility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Immunology or directly related discipline.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a laboratory setting through coursework, internships, or research projects is required.

JOB DUTIES:

Experiment Preparation : Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

Data Collection and Analysis: Perform tests and experiments using basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, centrifugation, and solution preparation, record observations, measure and analyze results, and compile data using specified software.

Lab Maintenance : Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lab, manage inventory of supplies and chemicals, and adhere to safety regulations.

Collaboration: Assist in developing new research methods and collaborate with team members on research projects, and assist in the analysis of experimental results under the guidance of scientists.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all laboratory work, including experiment setups, data, and findings for review and publication.

Reporting: Prepare reports and present research findings to senior staff and team members.

Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, plus strong attention to detail

  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully in a team setting.

  • Desire to learn new techniques and adapt to changing research needs.
