The success Manatts, Inc., enjoys today in the construction industry started 75 years ago. Back then, it was one man, one truck, and now our team of employees numbers more than 750 strong. We have dozens of ready-mix and asphalt production facilities around the state of Iowa. Our massive fleet of dump and ready-mix trucks serves thousands of job sites every year. In addition, our concrete and asphalt paving divisions, along with our various other crews, complete hundreds of projects every season.

Our Ankeny Ready Mix Plant is hiring a Part-time Bilingual Dispatcher

SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates efficiencies of truck demand engaged in delivering ready mix concrete to plant sites, job sites, and customers for profitable business production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Assists sales representatives, quality control, and contractors with concrete testing.

Coordinates mechanics and drivers to perform truck maintenance and servicing of trucks.

Schedules work force and coordinates Metro plants to ensure uninterrupted production flow on various projects.

Works with central dispatch, directs both Spanish and English speaking drivers to jobsites, enters orders, and batches

loads.

Coordinates with office and central dispatch to ensure proper credit policies are followed, including collection

procedures.

Maintains adequate inventory of materials and reseal products.

Maintains safe workplace and consistently implements safety programs, including personal protective equipment (PPE)

requirements.

Reports equipment and personnel problems to the senior dispatcher.

Manages plant production as efficiently as possible to help ensure lowest possible expense to Company.

During absence of other dispatch personnel, additional tasks may be required.

Expected to operate in safe manner and abide with traffic laws, rules, and regulations of State/Federal Departments

of Transportation, laws governing hazardous materials and placarding, Occupational Safety and Health Administration

rules and regulations and company rules/safety directives.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
