Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) is a unique electric generation and distribution cooperative, serving 59 communities across Alaska. Our operation spans 46 small, isolated grids relying on a mix of diesel, wind, and solar generation to power 11,513 meters and maintain 515 miles of distribution line.

Experience operating a 1-2-ton truck is crucial, as is proficiency in proper loading, tie-down, and unloading techniques. Additionally, candidates should have DOT Hazardous Material Shipping training (49 CFR) and at least two years of forklift experience, as these are vital for maintaining safety and efficiency.

A deep understanding of the unique logistics involved in shipping materials throughout rural Alaska will set you apart. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
