AAA Moving & Storage Payroll / Accounts Payable Specialist in Anchorage, Alaska

The Payroll/Accounts Payable Accounting specialists performs accounting and tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of payroll and accounts payable transactions. Payroll knowledge and experience is a must for this position. Minimum starting rate is $20/hr depending on experience.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Process weekly payroll for up to 170 employees.
  • Review payables invoices, resolve invoice discrepancies, and enter into system for payment
  • Sort and match invoices and check requests
  • Prepare and process accounts payable checks and credit card transactions.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Reconcile statements
  • Assist forwarders or Allied with questions regarding payables
  • Assist Accounting Supervisor with other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of payroll principles and technicalities
  • General knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Basic knowledge of accounting software
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Attention to detail
