Role Summary

Assists with maintenance on company aircraft, as well as general hangar cleaning. Mechanic Helper/Avionics Technician is directly responsible to the assigned Mechanic or Repairman and will be supervised during the performance of work. Assigned AandP or Repairman will back-sign as proof of supervision. (14 CFR Part 43.3(d)) Mechanic Helpers/Avionics Technicians are expected to test for Airframe and/or Powerplant license, through substantial accumulation of OJT hours (or through college coursework on their own.)

Key Duties

  • Learn and perform troubleshooting, reading and writing schematics, fuel calibrations, adjustment, alignment, and calibration aircraft systems, major and minor repairs or alterations to company aircraft, disassemble and inspect electrical components, perform daily checks, service checks, line maintenance, and pre-flights.
  • Learn to document aircraft maintenance repairs and alterations IAW FARs using appropriate company
  • Be familiar with all company manuals and AD Periodically review maintenance bulletins.
  • Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of aircraft.
  • Perform duties, such as furnishing tools and supplies to other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for workers.
  • Assemble and disassemble machinery, equipment, components, and parts.
  • Clean or lubricate machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, power tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Assist with preheating, launch and recovery, servicing, fluids, snow removal, and deicing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education and Skills

Required

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  • Requires the ability to understand and retain information provided verbally and written.
  • Requires manual dexterity and dissemble intricate assemblies
  • Requires frequent lifting of weights of 70lb.or more.
  • Requires standing on hard surfaces, floors, ladders, and work stands for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of technology used for training purposes or possess an interest in learning the technological methods used in training.
  • Requires the ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
