UnCruise Adventures Guest Services Representative, Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska

UnCruise Land Operations

UnCruise Adventures operates eight small passenger vessels throughout multiple itineraries year-round.

The Guest Services team provides the first and last point of contact for our guests at our hospitality, or check in, suites.  The poise and professionalism of the Guest Services team must be equal to that of the services provided on board our vessels.

UnCruise Adventures is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

 

Job Summary

The Guest Services Representative is responsible for assisting vessel guests at our hospitality suite. Guests will either be arriving for or departing from their cruise and this position will be the go-to person for airport transfers, luggage check-in, and around-town advice.

The Guest Service Representative is also responsible for receiving goods that are provisioned by the Purchasing department. These supplies might be sent via barge, air cargo or at designated will call pick ups in Anchorage. The guest service representative might purchase from a list provided by the purchasing team using a company card when will call is not available.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska.

 

Schedule

Seasonal, May 24, 2024 – September or October 2024

  • Wednesday, on call depending on shopping and barge pick up needs

  • Thursday - Friday, 8-10 hours

     

    Hospitality Duties

  • Host and maintain the hospitality suite including collect and tag guest luggage, maintain the guest manifest, and ensure the space meets high company standards.

  • Provide a high level of customer service to guests to ensure they have a pleasant pre or post-cruise experience.

  • Coordinate with Land Operations Manager to support all troubleshooting, logistics, and customer service issues with transportation vendors as needed.

  • Maintain and report inventory of collateral material associated with the hospitality suite.

  • Assist with unloading incoming and loading outgoing luggage movements to/from the vessels and airport.

     

    Provisioning Support

  • Banking - Provide an accounting recap of funds utilized on vessel expenses from the company-provided credit card. Detailed receipt reconciliation is required. Deposit vessel petty cash and restock vessel petty cash as requested.

  • Vessel provisioning –

  • Receipt of vessel requisitioning requests for locally sourced items.

  • Local purchasing of vessel requisition requests for perishable and easily accessible items from stores like Costco, Home Depot, marine stores, and grocery stores.

  • Deliveries/same day shopping

  • Provide local problem-solving support for local vendors, further building the partnership between UnCruise Adventures and the provider.

     

    Qualifications

  • Must be able to staff the hospitality suite on all dates provided.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service focused position dealing with highly educated and affluent clientele.

  • Knowledge of the embarkation port town and the surrounding areas including restaurants and excursions

  • Excel in problem solving and logistical skills.

  • Detail oriented and thorough; able to follow through on assigned tasks.

  • Ability to get along well with co-workers and support a team environment.

  • Clean driving record and vehicle.

     

    Physical Demands

    This position will be physically demanding.  Bending, climbing, repetitive motion, and heavy lifting of loads up to 50 pounds or more are requirements of this position.
