Job Description:

L3Harris is looking for candidates for the functional management and engineering technical expertise for Systems Integration and Test under the Systems Engineering Organization in Navigation Solutions (NS) in Anaheim, CA (IEC). The candidate will oversee Systems Integration and Test staff and direction, support proposals and Basis of Estimate (BOEs) for the Systems Integration and Test group, and provide hands-on technical expertise on NS programs while delegating when appropriate. The candidate must have both functional management experience and Systems Integration and Test technical and leadership expertise in military GPS technology. Navigation Solutions (NS) products provide advanced military GPS and other Position, Navigation, Timing (PNT) capabilities in military embedded real-time systems that can be used in weapons, ground, airborne, maritime, and space environments.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides technical expertise and guidance in Systems Integration and Test for NS programs and direct reports.

  • Hands-on Systems Integration and Test tasking on NS programs, and delegate when appropriate.

  • Drive to develop a cohesive team and trust within the Systems Integration and Test group and across functions.

  • Leads, directs, and reviews the work of Engineering professionals.

  • Communicates within and outside own function to explain and gains cooperation on policies and practices.

  • Makes moderate to substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.

  • Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the short-term operational results for the department.

  • Leads, directs, coaches, and reviews the work of direct report(s) to accomplish near-term operational plans and results.

  • Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for own organization.

  • Works under consultative direction against annual goals and objectives to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization.

  • Maintains outstanding communication with higher management and with the employees in the department.

  • Meets all programmatic and administrative suspenses.

  • Manages unit-assigned budgets and forecasts manpower obligations/needs.

Qualifications:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline with minimum 12 years or a graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in leading/managing/tracking projects, proposals, processes, and employees.

  • 5+ years of experience in leading teams for successful completion of project objectives within stringent technical, schedule, and budget requirements.

  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on Systems Integration and Test Engineering for GPS user-equipment programs and products.

  • 5+ years of experience in earned value management, metrics development and tracking, and basis of estimates.

  • 2+ years of functional management experience of 9+ engineering direct reports.

  • Active DoD SECRET clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).

  • 5+ years of experience in NS engineering programs and product lines.

  • Proficient in IEC tools and processes.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $125,500.00 - $233,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
