University Mechanical and Engineering Contractors, Inc. is currently seeking individuals for a full-time position as a Mechanical Project Engineer located in Anahiem, CA. area. UMEC (CA) provides a full range of responsive mechanical and HVAC services, including plumbing, mechanical construction engineering, design/build services, and green building solutions designed to meet our clients' rigid specifications. Responsibilities
- Project Estimating (Take-Off and Analysis)
- Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling)
- Manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Prepare Submittal Packages
- Manage Flow of Contractor provided submittal data
- Assist in data population of forms
- Prepare Project Progress Billings
- Assist in Technical Analysis, Trouble shooting, and problem solving of HVAC Air Equipment, HVAC Piping Equipment Systems, HVAC and Plumbing Equipment
Skills and Experience:
- Basic working knowledge HVAC and Plumbing Design and System Operation
- Basic working knowledge of Commercial and Industrial construction sequences
- Basic working knowledge of construction estimating
- Basic working knowledge of testing procedures for HVAC systems.
- Basic working knowledge of ASHRAE data and guidelines
- Average proficiency with MS Project scheduling program
- Average proficiency with MS Access or other database programs
- Above average proficiency with MS Excel and Word
- Above average proficiency with Internet
- Above average verbal and writing skills
- Above average organizational skills in handling and archiving technical data
Recommended that the candidate have bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Other Engineering Disciplines (Civil, Industrial, or Structural), and/or 5 years industry experience as a construction Project Engineer. Candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with project administration, project scheduling, productivity analysis, project cost control accounting, plus equipment and material procurement.
