Job Description:
As a Demand Planner for L3Harris, you will play a critical role in supporting the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process across multiple sites. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the main point of contact for gathering and tracking demand data from various sources to be used in decision-making for future planning processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to consolidate demand information, including firm Sales Orders and speculative demand such as New Business, Follow On, Customer Options, Repair and Return MRO, and Engineering IRAD, while developing forecasts for commercial contracts and customers. Your role will be instrumental in creating a comprehensive demand plan that spans the next 18-24 rolling months, ensuring alignment between demand and supply plans across the organization. This role will be critical in the execution of the monthly demand reviews, as the data and information collected, presented, and agreed to will feed the overall SIOP cadence and cycle.
Essential Functions:
Act as the primary liaison between multiple sites and cross-functional teams to gather and consolidate demand data.
Collect and analyze demand inputs, including Sales Orders, customer forecasts, market trends, and historical sales data.
Assist in developing reports and metrics that track and monitor all goals and objectives related to demand planning, forecasting, and SIOP execution.
Collaborate with Business Development, Program Management Office, and Engineering teams to understand customer requirements, market dynamics, and upcoming opportunities.
Develop and maintain an accurate demand plan that encompasses the next 18-24 rolling months, incorporating inputs from internal stakeholders and external factors.
Monitor and track demand changes, proactively identifying potential risks and opportunities for adjustment.
Participate in SIOP meetings to review and adjust demand plans based on business priorities, market conditions, and operational capabilities, and help in leading the monthly demand review.
Communicate demand forecasts and related insights to stakeholders across the organization, providing recommendations for inventory management and production planning.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of demand planning processes across multiple sites.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Familiarity with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes and methodologies.
Relevant experience in planning, operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
Proven experience in demand planning or a similar role within the aerospace and defense industry, preferably supporting multiple sites.
Experience working with ERP systems, particularly in demand management and inventory management modules.
Understanding of supply chain principles and best practices, including inventory optimization and risk management.
Proficiency in demand planning software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and embrace new technologies and tools to improve demand planning processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in data analysis and reporting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Degree(s) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline is highly preferred.
Knowledge of aerospace and defense industry regulations, market dynamics, and customer requirements is a plus.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of demand planning and supply chain management.
Flexibility to travel occasionally to different sites as required.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $96,500 - $179,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
