HOUSING AUTHORITY CITY OF ANACONDA MAINTENANCE LABORER in ANACONDA, Montana

The Anaconda Housing Authority is seeking a full time Maintenance Laborer employee. The Maintenance Laborer works under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, and is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of apartments, buildings and grounds. This includes necessary repairs, scrubbing and waxing floors, cleaning plumbing fixtures, ranges, refrigerators and putting the apartment in condition for re-renting. Unplugs sewer lines, drains and toilets, using rods and plungers. Lifts toilets when necessary to replace flooring or to unplug. Assists in installing gas, water and sanitary fixtures and testing for leaks. Runs snow removal equipment, cleaning sidewalks, parking areas and driveways. Responsible for lawn maintenance, such as cutting, sweeping, aerating, fertilizing, planting, and edging on all project-maintained lawn areas. Subject to paid 24 hour on-call time for emergencies when scheduled, one week per month. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Incumbent must have considerable knowledge of the problems, procedures and methods used in the maintenance work to be done, and of the routine procedures and methods effective in such tasks. Ability to understand and communicate written and oral instructions. Customer service skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tenants and the public. Education and Experience: High School graduation or equivalent. Must demonstrate experience in maintenance skills, grounds work and other trades necessary to carry out the work of this position, or suitable for employment as evidenced by interview and investigation. Particulars: WAGES: $17.298 per hour probationary wage - increase to $18.259 after successful completion of 90-day probationary period, and further increase to $19.220 upon completion of 1 year of service or more per CBA-request Benefit list for more information.
