St. Mary's Healthcare Rheumatologist in Amsterdam, New York

Hiring range: $214,910-$311,402

Offer rates are based on experience. Offer rates at the higher end of the range are only for applicants with many years of experience

Responsibilities:

Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management. • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital. • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner. • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Complexity of Work: • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Personal Protective Equipment: • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

• Required Credential(s): • Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician (MD/DO) licensed by New York State prior to hire date

• Preferred Credential(s): • Advanced Life Support.

Education: • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
