St. Mary's Healthcare Environmental Services Assistant in Amsterdam, New York

Job Requisition: REQ2745 Employment Type: Per Diem Shift: Days & Weekends

Hiring Range: $15.15 -$ 19.70

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

• Cleans patient rooms or other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces. • Maintains quality standards through the use of standard cleaning procedures and protocols including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash and medical waste removal while following patient isolation or other special situations in accordance with facility standards. • Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. • Maintains supplies and/or equipment in clean, and working condition.

Complexity of Work: • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment: • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Education: Less than High school diploma/GED .Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
