In this role, your daily tasks will include:

  • Review security requirements and assess the security posture to identify gaps or improvements

  • Define secure design of business, IT, and security solutions

  • Participate in designated projects and business initiatives as the security subject matter expert

  • Play an active role in developing security technical architecture and design which supports a robust technology solution, taking into account the client's business priorities

  • Review business processes from a security perspective and identify threats, risks, and solutions accordingly

  • Perform R&D in the field of IT security, including the IT security trending topics, including cloud security and IoT

  • Support the development and implementation of security and compliance legislation, such as GDPR, PSD2, and Cybersecurity law

  • Prepare security standards, guidelines and policies

Qualifications

  • Experience in multiple of the following areas:

  • Identity and Access Management

  • Application Security, cryptography, and protocols

  • Secure System Development Live Cycle

  • Security Incident Management and monitoring

  • Security Operations, and Cyber Security

  • Vulnerability management and penetration testing

  • Information Security Management, Risk Management, and Asset Security

  • Computer, IT Security, Network Security, and Cloud Security

  • Security standards, laws, and compliance

  • Experience in implementing security controls to improve system/platform overall security

  • Knowledge and experience with identifying and understanding the most common application security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10)

  • Ability to work independently and pro-actively contribute in a global team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presenting skills; able to concisely communicate security risks to both technical and business audiences

  • Completed university studies (preferably in the field of computer science or engineering)

  • Industry certification from vendors: ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, EC-Council, CompTIA, ITIL, CompTIA Security + Knowledge in Risk and Compliance Management, Operational Models, Business Continuity Plan, and Disaster Recovery Plan

  • Completed university degree of 3 years plus 1 year of relevant working experience or completed university degree of 4 years.

  • Certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISSP-ISSAP (Information Systems Security Architecture Professional), AWS or Azure Cloud Architect would be considered as an asset.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience with a minimum 4 years as a Security Architect.

  • Experience (hands-on) with security solutions and integrations.

  • Experience as Security Architect in the IT domain: architecture policy and standards, design templates, solution design, and validation, secure by design paradigm.

  • Knowledge of security standards and practices (ISO 27001, ISMS).

  • make and influence important business and architectural decisions

  • research, identify, validate, and adopt new technologies and methodologies

  • be a recognized expert and demonstrate this expertise by solving unprecedented issues and problems

  • further the profession, demonstrating and sharing best practices within and outside the organization

  • research and apply innovative security architecture solutions to new or existing problems and be able to justify and communicate design decisions

  • understand the impact of decisions, balancing requirements, and deciding between approaches

  • produce particular patterns and support quality assurance

Who You Are

You can monitor changes in the technical environment and assess whether risks are still at acceptable levels or whether previous decisions need to be revisited. You can direct and influence others on best practice and policy.

  • Communication (security architect) . You can demonstrate expert understanding of security concepts and can apply them to a technical level, at the highest levels of risk complexity. You can effectively translate and accurately communicate security and risk implications at the most senior levels across technical and non-technical stakeholders. You can successfully respond to challenges. You can manage stakeholder expectations across high risk and complexity or under constrained timescales.

  • Designing secure systems . You can lead design and review solutions to complex problems with system architectures by defining and challenging patterns and principles. You can create precedents and set direction.

  • Enabling and informing risk-based decisions . You can act as a point of escalation. You can be trusted by senior risk owners as an expert in security. You can apply risk methodologies at the most complex levels of risk.

  • Research and innovation . You can contribute to and inform developments on security properties in technology. You can identify new technologies and design the use of these in the business context across the organisation. You can engage with the broader security community.

  • Security technology . You can demonstrate strong knowledge of system architectures. You can understand and articulate the impact of vulnerabilities on existing and future designs and systems, and how easy or difficult it will be to exploit these vulnerabilities. You can be recognised as an expert by peers in the broader security industry.

  • Understanding security implications of transformation . You can challenge and lead changes to policy and processes to support business outcomes, business architecture, and legal and political implications.
