Netflix Manager, Production Management - Benelux in Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Role:

We are seeking an Executive to help manage Netflix’s original content (TV and film). The role, Manager, Production Management, is a permanent position that will report to the Director & Head of Production - Benelux, based out of Amsterdam. This Production team is responsible for supervising all operational aspects of original content produced for Netflix in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and plays a key role in executing Netflix’s original content strategy in the region.

Responsibilities include: managing multiple projects in different stages of production, reviewing production plans and budgets, providing early guidance for projects in the development phase, curating and supporting local production relationships, and supporting/suggesting best practices from pre-production through delivery.

This is a demanding and fast-moving position and a successful candidate will be proactive, innovative, self-driven, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and attention to detail at all times.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with Creative Executives to set up new productions by reviewing and approving Production Partners, key Heads of Departments, schedules, and budgets to flag possible issues and identify solutions.

  • Work with different Netflix departments such as Post Production, VFX, Creative, Finance, Legal, Public Policy & external production teams to establish workflows across multiple projects simultaneously in different production phases and support key stakeholders by providing the context and/or expertise in business-critical decisions.

  • Support the Head of Production and Production Org team to develop, communicate and implement an operational strategy for the local slate of Netflix projects.

  • Regularly align with Netflix colleagues across EMEA and the Globe to share best practices and integrate new learnings from other regions.

  • Review scripts and work with internal teams, Executive Producers, and Line Producers to vet show budgets and schedules, providing feedback on viability and risks.

  • Work closely with the Finance team to track & manage all costs, keeping stakeholders informed and working with external partners to ensure we meet deadlines and stay within budget.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Safety, Security, HR and Inclusion, to support Production Partners in providing safe, inclusive production spaces.

  • Identify industry trends and potential opportunities for operational improvement.

  • Support production training initiatives in the region.

  • Challenge existing approaches and suggest new ways to solve issues on various productions.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive production management experience as a Line Producer, Production Executive or Head of Production.

  • Experience managing the production of local Dutch and or Belgium TV and/or feature films.

  • Knowledge of the service market for international productions is desirable but not a requirement.

  • Role to be based in Amsterdam (candidate must be open to relocating if not based in the Netherlands).

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, simultaneously supervising multiple projects at various points of production (from development through delivery).

  • Access to a roster of high-quality vendors and talent in the region and strong familiarity across Dutch and Belgium production markets.

  • Flexible attitude to work, able to respond to urgent or important matters in a timely manner.

  • Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information, with a solid understanding of prioritizing and responding accordingly.

  • A desire to continue learning to ensure an understanding of current production processes and a curiosity about how they could be improved.

  • Fluency in English and Dutch is required, and additional languages are a plus.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Proficiency in Movie Magic Budgeting, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Mail.
