We are looking for an Ambulatory Psychotherapist to join our team of devoted caregivers. The Ambulatory Psychotherapist is a Licensed independent practitioner, in an ambulatory adult practice setting providing clinical mental health diagnoses (from adjustment disorders to serious chronic mental health conditions such as Bipolar Affective Disorder, Schizoaffective/Schizophrenia. The Ambulatory Psychotherapist can differentiate appropriate levels of care and provide patient with a well formulated outpatient treatment plans, and care coordination with other relevant practitioners.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for an independent ambulatory case load of patients.

  • Provides a minimum of clinical patient care hours per week, which is face to face with patient either in office or by virtual visit.

  • Has knowledge of outpatient billing criteria for evaluation and follow up patient care.

  • Provides treatment plan and coordination with patient involvement.

  • Provides individual, group, family, couples, and crisis counseling as needed.

  • Coordinates higher levels of care for patients with severe mental health condition, substance use disorders, etc.

  • Provides needed patient resources to support mental health needs.

  • Provides thorough and complete documentation for patient care to support clinical diagnoses and billing.

  • Acts as a liaison with patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information.

  • Provides continuing education to residents and various professionals in other discipline areas such as social work, nursing, care coordinators, medical students.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.

Languages:

  • English

Certifications:

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor (LISW-S) is required.

  • No record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a behavioral health setting is required with comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories, and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients.

  • The ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment and the ability to communicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provider base is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on PC; normal or corrected vision; extensive sitting and frequent walking; occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
