Position: Assistant Controller

Location: American Canyon

About Us:

Our client is a leading player in consumer products manufacturing, known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our team in American Canyon. This is a confidential position where you will play a pivotal role in driving financial success and ensuring the integrity of our accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the accounting operations team, fostering a culture of accuracy, timeliness, and excellence.

  • Oversee the monthly accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.

  • Lead the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate supplier payments.

  • Assist in treasury, tax, and risk management activities, including cash forecasting and foreign currency hedging.

  • Maintain robust internal controls, develop and uphold policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Coach and develop the accounting team, setting performance targets and fostering growth.

  • Optimize processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with the finance teams on budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.

  • Coordinate with external accountants and government agencies on statutory reporting matters.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required.

  • CPA or working towards certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of managerial accounting experience, including supervisory roles in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting.

  • Proficiency in general ledger functions, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end closing.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.

  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
