Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) has an immediate opening for a Peer Wellness Specialist at our Amelia, Clinic. This is a full-time position responsible for providing one-on-one mental and physical health coaching and guidance for individuals in behavioral health treatment. Applicants must have lived experience of behavioral health disorders such as severe mental illness and/or substance use disorder. Why Work at GCBHS? Facilitates evidence-based group education focusing on both mental health and physical health. Provides health education and support to persons with mental health and substance use disorder. Assists with implementation of individual treatment plans in integrated health. Primarily working Monday-Friday with some varied evening and weekend hours. Requirements: High school graduate or GED. Lived experience of severe mental illness and/or substance use disorder. Knowledge of substance use disorder system, mental health system, and homeless community-based services strongly desired. Individual must have demonstrated ability to respectfully motivate other consumers to act on their own behalf and to participate in activities. Drug test required. Position may require frequent driving of the employee's personal vehicle. Valid driver's license, vehicle, and insurable driving record may be required.
