Blair County Community Action Agency Weatherization Laborer in Altoona, Pennsylvania

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Must of regular reliable attendance;
  2. Completes training required to perform weatherization;
  3. Performs weatherization work to include installation of insulation of all types (blow- in, spray-on, batts, etc.), doors and windows, weather-stripping, caulking, mechanical and passive ventilation, framing, sheetrock, roof repair;
  4. Maintains a clean and safe work environment;
  5. Maintains tools and vehicles;
  6. Interacts with customers and coworkers in a productive, pleasant manner;
  7. Follows all procedures and guidelines regarding weatherization installation standards;
  8. Follows organization inventory policies and procedures including OSHA requirements;
  9. Follows organization safety procedures and utilizes safety equipment provided;
  10. Attends organization and other trainings and meetings as required;
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - High School graduate or high school equivalency. Completion required medical tests to begin work. Experience in weatherization work or general carpentry preferred or combination of training and experience. Ability for and no fear of working from ladders/scaffolding or working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces or attics, under mobile homes. Ability to travel within Blair County area on a daily basis and to attend training outside of district for periods of up to five days on an occasional basis.

Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. A personal background check will be completed.
