We are hiring for OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Technician to work in Des Moines, IA. This position is a contract-to-hire joining a growing team with continued industry training and significant room for a career path.

** Job Responsibilities:


  • This position will be responsible to regularly perform Outside Plant work along with maintenance and other activities.
  • Installation and maintenance of outside plant fiber network to include construction elements such as conduit, fiber, splice domes, and cabinets.
  • Pulling cable in multiple settings (manholes, vaults, and trenches).
  • Connects and rearranges buried copper and fiber optic cable facilities in buildings utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Operates power equipment such as pumps, compressors, and power plants (generators).
  • Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
  • Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and management.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).

* Job Requirements: *

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 0-2 years of commercial Data Center OSP experience.
  • Active OSHA 10 preferred.
  • Confined Spaces Training Will be trained onsite.

  • Physical Requirement: Must be able to work on a ladder and heights of over 20ft, lift up to 75 pounds, and move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, squat, walk, move, lift, carry equipment (> 50lb) for the duration of the workday. Able to work outside in varying weather conditions

  • Tools: Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), flashlight, work boots (steel toe or composite toe) gloves and tool pouch.
