Nestle Export and Purchasing Planner in Altona, Australia

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Export and Purchasing Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the exporting of containers in compliance with national and international laws and regulations. Additionally, you will play a key role in raising purchase and framework orders, ensuring visibility on spend. If you have a strong understanding of export processes and regulations, along with excellent organizational and communication skills, we invite you to apply for this position and contribute to our successful export operations. This role is based on site at Altona Southern Distribution Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase consumables for the Distribution Center (DC)

  • Manage Framework and Standard Orders for Altona.

  • Request vendor quotes and negotiate best rates.

  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, record details in SAP.

  • Raise Purchase Requisitions through Easy Request.

  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Manage and review Nestlé Corporate Purchasing Card Purchasing Card (PCard) expenses.

  • Ensure swift vendor payments, update banking details and trading terms.

  • Analyse cost centre allocations and budgets for Altona.

  • Provide monthly analytics to the DC manager.

  • Maintain maintenance logs for medical supplies, water filters, compressor, printer, and forklift.

  • Clear blocked and parked invoices, check and approve incoming invoices for payment, challenge vendors for overcharges.

  • Conduct stretch wrap, Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC label), and transport trials for cost savings.

  • Coordinate export planning and raise Standard Transfer Orders (STOs) from relevant factories.

  • Check stock levels and MLOR status.

  • Load plan complex export containers and arrange bookings.

  • Create Purchase Orders, outbound Deliveries (OBDs), and Consignment notes.

  • Arrange timeslots and maintain Altona's timeslot system.

  • Create Shipper Letter of Instruction (SLIs) for exports.

  • Support Dairy Export Dairy Transfer Declaration (DTDs) and Australian Quarantine Inspection Services (AQIS) audits.

  • Coordinate export airfreight and request quotes.

  • Provide operations support by running daily reports.

Skills and Experience:

  • Distribution, warehousing, and importing/exporting experience.

  • Effective daily plan communication.

  • Strong teamwork skills.

  • Excellent communication abilities.

  • Logical and analytical approach to processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Successful knowledge transfer capabilities.

  • Familiarity with SAP Planning tool.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
