How does this role contribute to our collective success?

As an Underwriting Service Associate this role will act within established guidelines and support the Underwriting teams; working closely with Underwriting Assistants to provide clerical/office support to assigned business unit(s) and/or department(s).

What will you do in this role?

• Prepare policies for policy issuance where applicable

• Review policies for accuracy and regulatory standards

• Review policy logs for accurate input

• Input policy and underwriting data in appropriate systems

• Process endorsements per request within established Company guidelines – where applicable

• Work with identified resources to maintain a structured diary system. Work with identified resources to structure and maintain file organization

• Coordinate file pulls and manage diary system to ensure that all necessary information is received within established timelines

• Follow up on delinquent data

• Submission management – where applicable

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

About You:

What you need to have:

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills

• Solid mathematical aptitude Proficient in Microsoft Office products (particularly, Excel and Word)

• Good computer, organization, written and verbal communication skills

• Good multi-tasking skills; ability to organize work and perform within time constraints

• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

What we prefer you to have:

• Knowledge of underwriting principles and processes

• Understands how to access and utilize necessary reference materials

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements

• Preferred knowledge of policy forms and documentation

• 2-3 years prior experience in the commercial insurance industry

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 45k to 50k Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
