ABM Industries Senior Director Electrical Infrastructure in Alpharetta, Georgia

Overview

The Director of Electrical Infrastructure reports to the Vice President of Technical Development (ATS) and will be responsible for leading the eMobility and Microgrid Technical Team as well as assisting the VP on identifying opportunities, qualifying prospects, resource assignments, identifying needs for additional developers and engineers, and creating processes for the pursuit of eMobility and Microgrid projects.

The Director of Electrical Infrastructure will have three primary responsibilities:

  • Lead the eMobility and Microgrid Technical Team

  • Lead and/or Assist Sales Team on RFP and ABM Driven Pursuits for ABM’s eMobility and Microgrid Division

  • Being an eMobility and Microgrid Technical Resource To Other ABM Divisions

This position is responsible for guiding team members and clients to proper solutions and set a culture that ensures performance-oriented results aligned with ABM’s high standards of customer service. Essential to success of the position is the leadership and support of key strategic objectives of both the Microgrid and eMobility division and ABM. Position will require a high sensitivity to industry and market trends that will drive the need for business change and innovation.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both written and orally

  • Proficient in technical writing (i.e., RFP Responses, Contract Documents, etc.)

  • Knowledgeable of current NEC, NFPA-70E, ASHRAE, Emissions, Electrical Classifications, IEEE/ANSI and other applicable current design standards and guidelines

  • Knowledge of Paris Climate Agreement, ESGs, and US Federal/State/Local Net Zero, Decarbonization, Electrification, Energy Consumption Reduction, and other applicable Sustainability standards, guidelines, and goals

  • Microgrid experience (i.e., design, construction, interconnectivity, maintenance, etc.)

  • Experience with power system studies, utility interconnection reports and design, power quality, switchgear automation and PLC applications, protective relay programming, and power system assessments

  • Solar Photovoltaic experience (i.e., design, construction, interconnectivity, maintenance, etc.)

  • Must be willing to travel nationwide up to 35%

  • Valid Driver’s License with an insurable good driving record

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint OneNote)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in design/development of complex electrical systems and large-scale utility interconnection projects

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in electrical infrastructure design, development, estimating, and construction administration with an emphasis on Microgrid and EV infrastructure

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in electrical infrastructure financial modeling

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the electrical design, development, or service work in industrial, commercial, retail, underground distribution, transportation, or other relevant industries

Preferred Background

  • Electrical PE licensure

  • Advanced Degrees in Engineering and/or Business a plus (i.e., MSEE, PhDEE, MBA, etc.)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Familiar with Salesforce or equivalent CRM

  • Design of Electrical Power Infrastructure

  • Construction Management of Electrical Power Infrastructure

  • Passion for energy efficiency, sustainability, renewable technologies, and decarbonization planning

Salary Range: $165,000 - $195,000

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
