Ameri-Shred Industrial Corp. Assembly Technician in Alpena, Michigan

Ameri-Shred Industrial Corp. (ASI) is seeking to add an assembly technician to their growing team. ASI manufactures recycling equipment such as shredders, conveyors, cart tippers, box dumpers, dust collectors, balers, and more. In this role, an assembly technician would be expected to perform a variety of tasks to assemble various equipment. Tasks include pallet building, machining, painting, and assembly with a variety of hand and power tools. Welding experience is highly desirable, but we are willing to train the right applicant. There is room for advancement for those that have the ability to learn other skills such as electrical panel building, welding or that show leadership qualities.

This job requires someone who appreciates doing something different and unique on a regular basis, and who is looking to grow in their career by learning new competencies regularly. Experience is not necessary, but a willingness and ability to learn quickly is required. Mechanical knowledge is preferred. Must be able to work first or second shift.

A candidate will be successful in this position if they have a basic knowledge of, and ability to read prints, is able to use a tape measure, is able to use a variety of hand and power tools, can identify various kinds of structural steel and is willing to learn new things. Those that can learn quickly would have the opportunity to travel to customer locations for field service work as well.
