Masonic Pathways Facilities and Transportation Manager in Alma, Michigan

The Facilities & Transportation Manager is responsible for the infrastructure, programs, and the annual regulatory compliance for all buildings, structures, and ground maintenance associated with the Michigan Masonic Home (Home). Additionally, this position provides oversight of the Transportation Department. The Facilities & Transportation Manager is responsible for the 24/7 operation of the facility and associated entities. This position is also responsible for planning, programming, and training staff on required regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies in collaboration with others within the organization. The Facilities & Transportation Manager is accountable for customer service associated with grounds and maintenance, and to ensure the overall appearance of the Home is maintained.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:

  • Direct oversite of Maintenance work order systems for all facilities

    • Manage all upgrades for TMS/TELs system for all facilities.

    • Provide high level documentation as needed for job performance and facility review.
  • Direct oversight of Facility Compliance Information for all HFES/BFS Annual inspection.

    • Manage all facility logs and information.

    • Ensure documentation is accurate.

    • Ensure that all staff are trained in the use of function of compliance information.
  • Manage implementation, training, and oversight of the security system for all facilities.
  • Assist the Home in managing all capital projects relating to the facility and grounds.
  • Assist the leadership team with capital planning and budgeting.
  • Prepare departmental operating budgets.
  • Assist with the updating of policies and procedures within the department.
  • Performs employee interviews and evaluations.
  • Works in cooperation with Human Resources as appropriate for employees to achieve departmental goals.
  • Provides daily oversight of all facility operations, budgets, work orders, and building programs.
  • Provides oversight related to facility maintenance operations associated with Warwick and PACE Central Michigan.

Skills:

  • Can work independently with limited supervision.
  • Have a customer service attitude with a sense of urgency towards quality resident services.
  • The ability to employ great collaborative skills both internally across departments and externally between providers of relevant services.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred, and two to three years supervisory or management experience; or an associate degree in a relevant discipline with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, construction documents, schematics, diagrams, and specifications. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing/piping, HVAC, mechanical, boilers/steam, painting, landscaping and grounds, and project management.
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory codes that apply to the long-term care / skilled nursing facility, the Home for the Aged (HFA), and independent living.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and managing annual capital and operating budgets.
  • Contract negotiating skills for large contracts for both maintenance and construction.
  • Direct experience with estimating, budgeting, bidding, and managing capital projects.
