We are looking for an Intern to join our Renewable Process Technology team in Allschwil.

In this exciting role you will support process technology development in the fields of bio-chemicals / biofuels and electrified distillation as well as development projects through process design, process optimization, testing, market analysis.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support the process technology development/improvement in the field of bio-based chemicals and biofuels as well as in the field of electrified distillation.

  • Report to the technology specialist on process simulation and process design in his field of expertise.

  • Promote know-how transfer internally between regions and BUs through projects support, case studies, presentations.

  • Promote Sulzer’s technology offering externally by e.g. creating sales kits & case studies or writing articles.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor or Master level student in Chemical or Process Engineering

  • Be familiar with chemical engineering activities (process simulation, unit operations, distillation)

  • Some experience with a process simulation tool such as ProII, Chemcad, AspenPlus or HYSIS or equivalent is an advantage

  • Fluent in English, and any other language is an advantage

  • Good organizational skills, team player, critical thinker

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Ability to plan the work autonomously

  • Self-driven and curiosity to experiment with new ideas and technologies

These technologies will contribute to lowering the environmental impact of the chemical industry as a whole as well as the environmental impact of linked consumers.
