Winkle Industries is the premier provider of material handling solutions. From scrap recycling to railway and everything in between.

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with precision measuring instruments, geometry, schematics, and math. Experience with G&M codes and tooling is a plus. Mechanical knowledge and experience with bore gauges and calipers are also required.

As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for translating engineering drawings and specifications into machine code for CNC machines. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of machined parts by programming and setting up CNC equipment.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Select appropriate tools and cutting speeds for machining operations.
  • Set up CNC machine, including loading raw materials and tooling, and configuring machine parameters.
  • Run test programs to ensure accuracy and make necessary adjustments for optimization.
  • Monitor machine processes to ensure quality standards are met and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, tooling and set up procedures.
  • Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other team members to understand project requirements and address and challenges.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers to ensure accuracy of machined parts.
  • Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs as needed.
  • Operate Mazak Mill and Lathe.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to improve programming techniques and processes.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with Conversational programming and G&M code (required)
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, knowledge of machining processes and experience with CNC machines and programming languages.
  • Knowledge of various CNC machines, such as milling machines and lathes.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma in CNC Programming, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. (preferred) (or relevant work experience)
  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer with expertise in AutoCAD or similar CAM software (required)
  • Candidates must be familiar with G&M Code
