Eagle Communications, Inc. News Director w/Play by Play in Alliance, Nebraska

Eagle Communications in Alliance, NE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced full-time News Director to join our team with Play-by-Play sports experience. The responsibilities of this role include live sports broadcasts and assisting in the planning and execution of sports related promotions. This individual will also be responsible for News and information in the Panhandle of Nebraska, including writing stories for our free online news website in AP style, recording on-air news updates, attending community and city council meetings, and engaging with the communities we serve. This person will also be responsible for some on-air shifts as needed, organizing and facilitating arrangements with our school partnerships, as well as being on call for severe weather events as a service to our communities. Additionally, this role may include additional projects assigned by the Operations Manager.

Experience: Radio Experience; Communications experience: journalism, writing, public speaking; understands the rules of most sports from study and/or from having played the game(s); Experience with Adobe Audition, wirecast, and Nexgen are a plus! Experience or the ability to learn about radio transmitters and/or troubleshooting on-air issues helpful. Positive outlook, people oriented, self-starting, team oriented; organized. Demonstrates willingness to go above and beyond to do what it takes to get the job done Demonstrates creative commercial production ability Must be willing to do background work to make things happen, to stimulate others' involvement Must have self-confidence and an awareness of public service aspect of job Marry the Community with volunteer opportunities that become available Accurate, detailed, with an understanding that sometimes the job may require extra hours above 40 per week

Requirements: Job Requirements: Reports directly to Nebraska Regional Manager and the Nebraska Operations Manager; Writes, and produces multiple Newscasts for AIR and Web Page daily Provides play-by-play on-air and video online broadcasts Producing news for our on-line news site as well as on-air news updates During Spring and Summer, assists with potential LIVE Severe Weather Coverage Conduct coach interviews, stories and podcasts Provide talent for station Live Broadcasts and events Assist in commercial production and adding games to our Nexgen logs Possible Air Shift(s) Other duties as may be deemed appropriate by management

Education: College degree preferred, but not necessary.
