Job Information

Ford Motor Company Motorsports Powertrain Multi-Body Dynamics Simulation Engineer in Allen Park, Michigan

In 1901, Henry Ford designed and built the racecar called “Sweepstakes.” On October 10 that year, he drove Sweepstakes against Alexander Winton, a famous racer and builder, and against all odds Ford won. That was the beginning – “the race that changed the world” – and it continues today. From our victories at Le Mans in 1966 and again fifty years later in 2016, to championships in NASCAR, and other series across the globe, the spirit of Henry Ford lives with us every day through our motorsports efforts around the world.

Ford Performance is looking for an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Motorsports Powertrain Multi-Body Dynamics Simulation Engineer to join our Global Motorsports department, with locations in Allen Park, Michigan and Concord, North Carolina. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a highly dynamic environment, developing cutting edge powertrains to race around the world.

This is a hybrid role out of Allen Park, MI or Concord, NC.

What you'll do...

  • Lead the creation and simulation of multi-body physics models to develop motorsports powertrain systems and components such as valvetrain, cranktrain, FEAD, driveline, etc.

  • Define and coordinate the physical testing of engines and/or powertrain systems to acquire the data needed to validate models or component designs or similar.

  • Able to interpret simulation/testing results to clearly document and present technical information to team members and non-technical staff.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar related engineering field.

  • 3+ years of engine and/or driveline development, design or testing experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in multi-body kinematic/dynamic analysis using a commercially available software package e.g. GT-Suite, VALDYN, AVL-Excite, ADAMS, etc.

Even better, you may have…

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Competent with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Ability to work across functions, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility.

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
