Job Summary

Prepares and serves nourishing well balanced meals to meet the nutritional needs of residents. While maintaining meal records and training others assigned to kitchen responsibilities.

Starting Wage: $16.02 per hour, no benefits, variable schedule, as needed, up to 19.5 hours per week

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinates with supervisor the preparation of meals for the 24/7 residential facility.

  • Serves meals to residents and staff in accordance with court security policies and procedures.

  • Cleans kitchen area and utensils used in preparation of meals.

  • Assists in training residents and staff assigned to work in the kitchen.

  • Assists in maintaining food inventory, record keeping and ordering food.

  • Performs duties for food service supervisor as required in supervisor's absence.

Education: High school graduation or GED equivalent required.

Previous health and nutrition coursework desired.

Experience: One year of experience in food service and food safety desired.

License: Valid Michigan Driver's License required.
