Job Description:

Coordinates production activities to ensure materials, documents and processes are compliant with the established company practices and procedures. Performs the work in leadership position under limited supervision from line Supervisor. Assists the Supervisor in all aspects of operations. Typical duties:

  1. Provide work direction to and monitor performance of all operators in department.

  2. Assist the Supervisor to address day to day production issues; including staffing needs, material availability, and equipment status.

  3. Assist the Supervisor with product flow and organization in the production line.

  4. Follow and enforce all related quality, compliance, and Company policies and procedures

  5. Maintain good understanding of department performance goals including: Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety.

  6. Identify and act on road blocks that may prevent production line from achieving these performance goals.

  7. Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing / Quality Engineers, Production Supervisor, Warehouse Clerks to resolve issues.

  8. Identify continuous improvement opportunities

  9. Give feedback and input on operators’ performance reviews.

  10. Responsible for learning and maintaining knowledge and skills to perform majority of the manufacturing processes successfully

  11. Maintain data integrity for Work Orders/ Build Records, Material, Training records etc.

  12. Maintain and update production metrics

  13. Address performance issues in the absence of a Supervisor

  14. Act as a Supervisor in the absence of a Supervisor

  15. Use time and resources efficiently

  16. Maintain work area clean and organized

  17. Perform Assembler, Trainer, and Material Handler responsibilities as necessary

  18. Must be willing to work over time when needed

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

  2. General knowledge of clean room procedures.

  3. Minimum of 6+ year manufacturing experience, preferably in Medical Device Assembly

  4. High level of experience in leading teams is required

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Ability to do small part assembly work using a microscope, vision system and or related automated equipment

  2. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate (read, write and speak in English) with peers, engineers, leads, supervisors and managers

  3. Basic math skills

  4. Knowledge of basic measuring techniques including scales, rulers, US and metric measurement

  5. Proficiency in assembly procedures, with the ability to train others on the assembly procedures and inspect assemblers work.

  6. Basic computer and good Microsoft Word / Excel skills

  7. Strong sense of urgency

  8. Ability to work in a culturally diverse work population

  9. Excellent understanding of GMP/ISO, MicroVention Quality System

  10. Good understanding of JDE (Business system)

  11. Good personal organization skills
