Position Description

Senior Systems Engineer

This is a hybrid position that allows for some remote work but also requires some work from our office in Alexandria VA or Washington DC (Navy Yard).

The Senior Systems Engineer will join a highly experienced team that evaluates and manages the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet. You will work closely with government and industry professionals as well as shipbuilders and other support personnel. Bring your expertise and collaboration skills and have an impact on our military defense and the safety of our sailors and marines.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide C4I systems expertise in developing ship change packages

  • Support meetings including Weekly C4ISR meetings with the customer

  • Facilitate Monthly C4ISR meeting with SPAWAR/NIWC

  • Provide coordination/liaison with other Government agencies and commercial partners to address and resolve technical issues

  • Participate in shipboard trial events upon Government request

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance post-employment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • AutoCAD experience

  • Familiarity with PEO C4I and SPAWAR/NIWC organizations

  • Deep knowledge of U.S Navy Amphibious Ship C4ISR systems and interfaces

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Even better with:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • A combination of 15 years of relevant work experience (education/internship/Navy experience)
