SAIC SQL Database Analyst in ALEXANDRIA, Virginia

Description

SAIC is seeking a SQL Database Analyst to support the Resource Enterprise Services (RES) for Program Resources and Information Systems Management Division (PRISM), for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) as part of the Select and Native Programming (SNaP) Team in Alexandria, Virginia .

Candidates will:

  • Maintain business applications that support the planning and programming phases of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and prepare material and guidance for such applications. PPBE is the Department of Defense (DOD) process for allocating resources.

  • Design, develop, and maintain agile applications that meet client requirements and work with the product business owner to ensure delivery that corresponds to timelines.

  • Review and apply new technologies to improve application performance.

  • Maintain database compliance; deploy upgrades, provide failover contingency plan solutions, and develop secure B2B solutions. Compliance includes coordinating and ensuring product cybersecurity compliance.

  • Work in an IT development environment focused on engineering analysis and creation of technical solutions for DoD clients.

  • Provide technical direction and perform complex analyses individually or in coordination with team members.

  • Design, implement, and test features of complex information systems that provide Business Intelligence solutions with focus on performance, scalability, and security.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree with 3 years IT experience or a PHD with 0 years of IT experience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system design, system functionality and performance.

  • Ability to successfully interface with many levels of client management, set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and integrate well with an established development team.

  • Experience interpreting data requirements and designing/optimizing database structures to meet those requirements.

  • Experience with data analysis tools, data modeling, and SQL queries.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Interim Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; US citizenship required.

Required Certification:

  • DoD 8570.01-M Level II IA certification (Security+) or able to obtain within 30 days of start.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Experience in the optimization of data storage to support data analytics.

  • The SQL Database Analyst should be familiar with the data structures to support the PPBE business systems running on Windows operating systems by developing specialized software to implement business logic (complex triggers, Snapshots, RESTful services).

  • A conceptual understanding and familiarity with industry standards and DoD’s RMF.
