Job Summary:

Akima Data Management is currently seeking an INFOSEC Security Specialist III to work in Alexandria, VA in support of our customer. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to communication security.

  • Assesses and mitigates vulnerabilities in communication systems, including telephone, radio, and computer networks.

  • Conducts risk assessments and security audits to identify potential threats to communication security.

  • Manages COMSEC material accounting, control and use procedure.

  • Identifies and reports COMSEC incidents.

  • Designs and implements secure communication protocols, such as encryption and authentication methods.

  • Provides training and education to employees on communication security best practices.

  • Investigates and reports any security incidents or breaches.

  • Coordinates with other security personnel and external agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards related to communication security.

  • Manages and maintains cryptographic material, such as encryption keys and devices.

  • Conducts security awareness training for staff to ensure proper handling and protection of sensitive information.

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to ensure communication security measures are integrated with other security protocols.

  • Knowledge of communication security technologies and protocols, such as encryption and authentication methods.

  • Determines Security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.

  • Experience working with Automatic and Mandatory Declassification Programs.

  • Thorough understanding of the ISP to include marking, safeguarding, transmission, transporting, distribution, storage, and destruction.

  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • 5+ years of exp and a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required.

  • Able to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
