Aerotek Hvac Technician in Alexandria, Virginia

Description:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems utilizing their knowledge of refrigeration theory, electrical schematics, pneumatics and electronic control systems, pipe fitting, welding/brazing and mechanical layouts

•Troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls equipment such as air compressors, pumps, air handlers, air dryers, heat exchangers, other environmental changing devices, other mechanical equipment or electrical pneumatic and electronic components

•Installs, maintains, or repairs pneumatic valves, electric valves, heat transfer equipment, ventilation, and air distribution equipment

•Installs and replaces all types of pumps or refrigeration equipment according to prints, specifications, diagrams, or other instructions

•Basic electrical knowledge and trouble shooting principles

•Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment

•Proficient in the use of refrigerant recycling/recovery equipment, power tools, multi-meter, soldering/brazing equipment, pipe threading machines, and tube cleaning equipment

•Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files

•Follow oral and written instructions

•Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

3-5 years of commercial HVAC service equipment

Certification or associates degree from an HVAC program at a technical school

CFC or EPA certification preferred
