Now hiring for 3p-11p and 11p-7a with $1.00 shift differential pay. Also, one spot available for Weekend Double LPN - 7a-11pm Saturday and Sunday. Work 32 hours in a weekend and get paid for 40 hours with shift differential pay of $1.00 more an hour for 3p-11p shift. Sign on Bonus** The Licensed Staff Nurse communicates with off going and arriving shifts of personnel to assure the continuum of quality of care. The Licensed Staff Nurse makes rounds, evaluates the physical, emotional and social needs of the residents to ensure the staff assigned provides intervention as indicated. Supervises the care provided by the Nursing Assistants assigned to the unit, providing intervention, and education as indicated. Prepares and administers medications and treatments according to procedures. Consults with physicians, receives, records and transcribes orders as required. Reviews residents care plans and assures these plans are followed. Documents on records as per policy and procedures of the facility. Responsibilities The Licensed Staff works with the Director of Nursing to assure the following responsibilities are accomplished. This list is only partial and should not be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks and responsibilities. 1 Receives report from the off going shift and gives report to on coming shift. 2 Reviews communication systems to be knowledgeable of any unusual occurrences during the previous shifts. 3 Assigns nursing assistants and other designated personnel assuring each residents needs will be met during the assigned shift. 4 Gives report to Nursing Assistants. 5 Makes rounds of the assigned unit frequently during the shift providing intervention as needed. During the entire shift, will be attune to needs of the unit while doing other nursing tasks. 6 Prepares and administers medications as ordered using the 5 rights method. Reorders medications as needed in preparation for future shifts. Assesses and documents medication issues as per policy. 7 Provides special procedures as ordered. 8 Completes treatments as ordered. Assesses and documents accordingly. Contacts the physician for any treatment issues as per policy. 9 Supervises the meal services for each resident on the unit. Works with the staff to assure each resident is provided adequate nutrition for each meal. 10 Monitors residents for risk or complications as a result of the residents medical conditions. (i.e., skin breakdown, incontinence, contractures, reduced mobility, reduced involvement in bathing, dressing, or eating, weight loss, behaviors due to change in lifestyle, etc.) 11 Observes and monitors the Nursing assistants to assure that residents needs are met and nurse aides duties are performed. 12 Document on nurses notes as per policy. Assures there is accurate and timely documentation of any unusual observation, incident, or situation. 13 Reviews and follows residents plan of care. 14 Admits residents as required. 15 Assists in the ordering and reviewing of results of laboratory tests as indicated. Notifies physician of results. 16 Notifies the physician of unusual findings as indicated. 17 Assists with auditing charts. 18 Counts required medications with oncoming and off going shifts. 19 Assists in keeping other departments informed of residents change of condition as indicated. 20 Assists in providing in-services for assigned staff. 21 Keeps nurses station, medication room and other work spaces clean and orderly. 22 Participates with month end physician order reviews 23 Makes rounds toward end of shift to assure area is in order for the oncoming shift. 24 Revie s and assures there is adequate staffing for the oncoming shift. Replaces known absences in a timely manner. 25 Notifies the Resident and/or Resident Representative of changes in condition or changes to the plan of care 26 Prepares incident/accident reports as needed 27 Reports immediately to supervisor, administrator and local law enforcement situations involving abuse, neglect, or suspicion of a crime. 28 Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, HIPPA Standard, and Computer Usage Agreement.
