Scope of Position:

To promote the success of Expeditors by directing the Company’s financial affairs, within a framework of prudent and effective controls, which enable risk to be assessed and managed through focus on Finances, Operations, People, Customers, Systems, Culture and Compliance in adherence to the company’s policy and procedures.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Preparation and Review of annual financial statements,

  • Liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information, tax computations.

  • Oversee all tax and financial regulatory compliance issues including the preparation and submission of information to statutory authorities.

  • Oversee Payroll, VAT, other taxes including Corporate Income Tax compliance and financial reporting.

  • Preparation of the SII information aNd the declaration of it.

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of tax policies and procedures.

     

Compliance:

  • Oversee external controls over tax reporting,

  • Promote a culture of compliance with Company policies and government regulations,

  • Proactively communicate with his/her team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of regulations.

     

Culture:

Skills:

  • Advanced in Microsoft Office, including Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables.

  • Knowledge of Power BI.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Experience in compliance and controls.

Candidate requirements:

  • Relevant bachelor's or master's degree plus Tax especialization

  • Knowledge on accounting rules is highly desirable

  • US GAAP experience (desirable).

  • High level of tax and regulatory knowledge.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • 10 + years of Fiscal and Tax experience (preferably in the Global Logistics Industry).
