Job Summary

The primary objective of the Director is to create worldclass learning experiences for Cirrus pilots and maintenance technicians that equips our pilots and technicians with the knowledge, skills and decision-making capabilities to be successful in operating and maintaining Cirrus aircraft worldwide. The training programs and products developed by Cirrus are an integral component of our strategy to maintain a fleetwide best in class safety record. The Director leads a training development team that facilitates a world class training experience through the development, maintenance and deployment of industry leading training courseware, courses and supporting materials for all models of Cirrus. The Director is responsible to ensure that training courseware is developed and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations as necessary to support the aircraft’s entry into service in the global markets served. The Director will carry out development projects that are aligned with Cirrus’ strategic priorities and leverage stakeholder input to define training needs and project requirements. The Director will lead of team consisting of learning systems experts, subject matter experts, learning designers and developers. The Director will work closely and collaboratively with counterparts in Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Flight Operation, Information Technologies and Media Production to plan and execute training projects. The Director will plan and manage project and operational budgets along with revenue associated with Cirrus Approach. The Director position is offered and based at Cirrus Aircraft’s Vision Center in Knoxville Tennessee.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

· Equip and engage Cirrus owners and pilots, including internal and external pilots and flight instructors, with a world-class flight training experience that positively influences their knowledge, skill and decision-making capabilities to achieve a best in-class safety record for all Cirrus products.

· Develop, deploy and engage industry leading learning experiences that equip Cirrus technicians, including internal and external technicians, with the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs at optimal levels

· Lead, mentor and coach team members to achieve department goals and objectives.

· Drive and leverage learning technologies to provide the most engaging and impactful learning experience.

· Plan and manage training development projects to delivery results within cost, timeline and quality expectations.

· Adapt, develop and certify, if applicable, training programs for the markets served and future markets.

· Provide vision and influence to shape and achieve Cirrus’ strategic priority focus on expanding Cirrus’ training solutions.

· Develop collaborative and highly functional relationships with adjacent teams and leaders to achieve common objectives aligned with company level goals.

· Plan and execute project budgets and operational expenses to drive Cirrus Approach related margin.

Qualifications

· Master’s degree in instructional design, adult education, aviation management or business administration is required,

· Minimum two years’ experience directing aviation-related training development is required,

· Minimum five years’ experience developing training content,

· Minimum five years’ experience leading a team with direct reports required,

· Minimum five years’ experience developing and performing to project plans and budgets.
