Nexstar Media Group Social Media Producer in Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Social Media Producer is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to generate inbound traffic from external sources and communicate our brand identity on social channels. They must be highly motivated with an ability to focus and re-focus on constantly changing best practices and algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, video production and graphic design.

  • Create and execute social media content strategy

  • Manage all social media accounts with understanding of each unique audience

  • Create engaging video content for various social media platforms

  • Monitor reader sentiment and identify ways to increase engagement

  • Develop original social content for both avid and casual followers

  • Identify emerging social media platforms and opportunities

  • Execute on growing local newsletter strategy while tailoring tone to local needs

  • Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of social media tools and software

  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on new media initiatives

  • Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts

  • Meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team

  • Observe SEO trends locally, regionally and nationally

  • Be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills

  • Adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands

  • Perform other duties as assigned ​ ​

​ Requirements & Skills :

  • Journalism, digital media, video production, social media/web management, or communications degree

  • Minimum two years' experience as a social media producer

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends

  • Excellent computer skills, including Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Express and other tools

  • Ability to moderate tone voice to fit platform and brand needs

  • Strong multi-tasking abilities

  • Knowledge of audience behavior trends and technical ability to affect them

  • Ability to monitor and analyze metrics to change strategy as needed

  • Knowledge of AP style

  • Understanding of effective writing styles for internal and external audiences

  • Regularly meets measurements of success

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Positive attitude, detail and audience oriented, good multi-tasking and organizational skills
