Job Overview

The Plumbing Technician/Journeyman will play a crucial role in performing installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on plumbing systems. You will utilize your expertise to diagnose plumbing issues accurately and provide effective solutions, ensuring optimal functioning of water, drainage, and heating systems in residential and commercial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, including effectively communicating with clients and addressing their plumbing needs.
  • Communicate with management and coworkers.
  • Know the various types of pipes, valves, couplings, and other materials and tools used by plumbers.
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance of plumbing systems to identify potential problems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Repair or replace broken or defective plumbing pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Install and maintain water or steam heaters, faucets, toilets, sinks, tubs, and other plumbing components.
  • Assist in determining material and equipment required for a job.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Mentor and assist plumbing helpers and apprentices as needed.
  • Seek to continue learning and develop your own skills.
  • We will assist with journeyman licensing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team and individuals
  • Be customer service oriented
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights).
  • Be able to use power tools and hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and wrenches.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
