Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Electronic Maintenance Technician and deployer in support of Emergency Response Teams located on Kirtland Air Force Base.

  • Performs tasks with direction from the equipment / program manager and federal customers from respective emergency response organizations.

  • Coordinate equipment repairs and kitting at customer sites with guidance from the equipment manager and lead technicians.

  • Maintain equipment readiness by performing scheduled and unplanned maintenance. Identifies issues, recommends changes, implements changes, measures/documents results and maintains readiness through scheduled and unplanned maintenance of equipment.

  • Assists equipment manager and peers with maintaining adequate amount of on hand supplies to replenish consumables of deployment kits.

  • Performs component level repairs on most predetermined depot level repairable equipment to include generators, communication equipment and various other electrical/mechanical equipment.

  • Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions, plans and drawings.

  • Material handling abilities to include managing objects >35lbs.

  • Uses hand and power tools as required to accomplish work.

  • Ship and receive equipment between customers, depot and manufacturer if necessary.

  • Determines packaging/storage requirements, packages material and coordinates loading or unloading of items requiring special handling techniques.

  • Develop resolutions to customer needs through innovative continuous improvement ideas such as new and improved support products or prototype support equipment models.

  • Maintains 5S organization of the depot to include all emergency response groups equipment, spares and consumables.

  • Works directly for the equipment manager and Federal customer to assist depot equipment management.

  • Provide "core skill" training to teams and peers and coordinate activities and personnel with the department / function.

You Must Have

MUST HAVE:

  • Two or more years’ experience with military type deployments with two or more continuous days in the field on each deployment.

  • Minimum one year experience providing direct customer service.

  • Two or more years’ experience in technical assignments, including application of technology principles to complex assignments, with two of those years in testing, development and modification of equipment.

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or five plus years of experience in a technical role.

  • 1 Year NNSA Emergency Response Mission support experience.

  • Three or more years experience in a government or government contract work environment.

  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

  • Experience in a logistics and depot role or function.
