CACI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for its technical team in Albuquerque, NM. This position requires travel in the continental United States for various projects. If you are looking to be challenged in your job within a growing organization, CACI would like to speak with you.

More About the Role:

  • Defines and develops new mobile/transportable shelter system designs.

  • Identifies relevant subsystems to include hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, HVAC, power generation, and other mechanical subsystems as required.

  • Assesses requirements and system architecture to develop mechanical design solutions to support existing hardware limitations.

  • Creates system specifications and ensures mechanical interface compatibility.

  • Analyzes and resolves design compatibility issues.

  • Coordinates design of mechanical system and subsystems for integration into a system of systems platform.

  • Coordinates and consolidates design efforts to include requirements definitions through testing verification.

  • Experience in transitioning completed designs into fabrication activities.

  • Conducts independent technical investigations including failure analysis and determination of root cause.

  • Experienced in Finite Element Analysis.

  • Experienced in technical writing to include engineering analysis, trade studies, feasibility assessments and analysis of alternatives.

  • Requires experience with interfacing with customers to include requirements clarification, providing technical status and delivering design presentations as required.

  • Experienced in developmental and qualification testing to include providing input to test plans and procedures, conducting testing evolutions and correcting deficiencies.

  • Perform site surveys and engineering assessments.

  • Develop drawings, User Guides, test plans, test procedures, rack elevations, equipment maintenance manuals and other documentation.

  • Quality inspection team member.

  • Work in a team environment.

  • Must be a quick learner who can apply technical knowledge and skills to reach a design solution on time under time constraints.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • A Current US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Clearance

  • BS/MS in mechanical engineering, with 5 years of demonstrated experience supporting the DoD or other federal agencies in a mechanical engineering capacity.

  • Must be proficient in ACAD 3D, Autodesk Inventor and MS Office suite

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • M.S. in mechanical engineering with 10 + years of design experience with mobile/transportable systems for the DOD.

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Active TS/SCI
