Amentum Linux/Windows Systems Administrator in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Amentum is currently seeking a Linux/Windows Systems Administrator to support an IT Managed Services program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems.

As a member of the team, you will provide desktop support for our customers on virtual and hardware-based systems, escorting vendors to service hardware issues on machines, installing software, ordering computers for the customer, and researching and making recommendations for new hardware purchases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience OR an Associates degree and 5 years of experience OR a High School degree/GED and 8 years of experience.

  • Related experience can be substituted for relevant education and vice versa.

  • Must have an active DOE Q or DoD Secret with reciprocity to be considered.

  • Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades.

  • Ability to understand the application and utilization of software packages, maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.

  • Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.

  • Computer and basic network connection troubleshooting.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers, vendors, and database administrators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Windows Server System Administration and UNIX experience.

  • Linux Server System Administration and UNIX experience.

  • Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies.

  • Prior working experience with Sandia infrastructure.

  • Windows system administration experience.

  • Automation platforms such as Ansible, VmWare, Python.

  • Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions.

  • RHCE/CCNA

  • Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes.

  • Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.

  • Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience.

  • ESXI experience
