Overview

BlueHalo is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Space Technologies Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of control systems for space applications.

A Control Systems Engineer in our Space Technologies Division plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for spacecraft and other space technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of control theory, system dynamics, and the unique challenges associated with space-based systems.

The Control Systems Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to develop control strategies for various space systems, including satellites, rovers, and spacecraft. This includes designing control algorithms, conducting simulations to validate these designs, and implementing these algorithms on actual hardware.

The Engineer's duties will include:

  • Scientific research, design, development, and analysis of state-of-the-art electro-optical and opto-mechanical systems for precision sensing and laser communication applications.

  • Must have the ability to provide technical guidance and lead a team of engineers and scientists

You’re required to have this

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering/Scientific (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical) Discipline from an accredited four-year university.

  • Experience with applied control theory

  • Undergraduate study in control system theory

  • Undergraduate experience in laboratory experimentation using advanced control system technologies

  • Experience with classical and state-space control methods

  • Experience translating continuous time control algorithms to discrete time implementations

  • Experience with Gimbals or other actuated mechanical systems

  • A U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.

  • Microsoft Office Suite, Matlab, Simulink experience.
