ATI is currently looking to hire a Senior Electrical Project Engineer for our manufacturing facility in Albany, Oregon. This is a day shift position and hours are somewhat flexible. In this role you will report to the Electrical Engineering Senior Leader. You will be responsible for providing support to the business by executing capital and major maintenance projects, optimizing existing manufacturing processes, and being a technical resource to resolve equipment and or infrastructure breakdowns. You will spend about 50% of your time as boots on the ground in the plant and about 50% of the time in the office.

A Project Engineer is a problem solver and a strong communicator who will have to quickly develop a strong understanding of the operation to identify and develop efficient methods and processes. You’ll work with cross functional teams and departments across the plant along with a unionized workforce.

In order to become successful in this role, the individual will need to quickly learn ATI’s processes, equipment, systems and procedures to effectively lead efforts to ensure we are meeting our goals and objectives. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, good time management, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful Project Engineer.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret requesting department's needs for new or refurbished equipment, systems and facilities and propose viable alternatives and solutions.

  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules and performance objectives for capital and expense projects.

  • Design cost-effective new, modified or replacement equipment, buildings, structures or systems per applicable codes to meet production, environmental and safety requirements.

  • Prepare specifications and obtain competitive bids and estimates for labor and material costs to acquire funding to complete assigned engineering projects.

  • Analyze and recommend bids, estimate labor costs, downtime costs and material costs to develop a budget.

  • Support engineering functions as needed to fellow engineers for projects in other disciplines.

  • Oversee, direct and supervise contractors and consultants during design, construction, modification, and installation of plant equipment, facilities and systems.

  • Coordinate with plant maintenance and operations for various projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • At least 5 years of electrical engineering, or project management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

Preferences

  • Preferred candidate has their Oregon Profession Engineering license or capable of acquiring it within one year.

  • Heavy industrial or manufacturing facility power distribution design experience.
