Job Title: Parts Manager

Location: Onsite in Albany. OR (3923 Old Salem Rd Ne Albany OR 97321)

Job Summary: As Parts Manager, oversee the comprehensive management of shop parts inventory, including accurate maintenance, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and meticulous inventory counts, ensuring seamless adherence to cost control measures while actively contributing to the optimization of financial efficiency and participating in team collaboration.

Job Schedule: Monday-Friday (7:00 AM-4:00 PM)

Compensation: $51,194.00-$56,579/year Starting Wages (Paid Bi-Weekly) *A final offer amount is dependent on factors including prior relevant experience, knowledge, and location. Typically, selected candidates are hired at a rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Day in the Job Preview: In a typical day as Parts Manager, you'll engage in precision-driven tasks, from conducting meticulous inventory counts and negotiating competitive pricing to actively contributing insights in team meetings, ensuring the seamless execution of the purchase process, and maintaining the organization and efficiency of the parts room.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive inventory counts, meticulously analyzing parts usage, maintaining min/max program, and managing shipping and receiving processes, all while strictly adhering to cost control measures.

  • Ensure the quantity, accuracy, and availability of all parts inventory pertinent to the shop, guaranteeing that maintenance associates have the right parts readily accessible, thereby minimizing the need for local emergency purchases.

  • Conduct audits of shipments, invoices, purchase orders, and inventory distribution to maintain accuracy and accountability.

  • Ensure flawless execution of the "purchase, receive, inventory, issue, and return" process by the CRST Parts Team's published guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with established guidelines outlined in the CRST parts SOP for all purchases and inventory decisions, including the accurate completion and maintenance of purchase orders to match invoices from local vendors.

  • Actively participate in conference calls and meetings with the entire parts team to contribute valuable insights and updates.

  • Maintain cost control measures and diligently manage expenses to optimize financial efficiency.

  • Effectively merchandise, organize, and upkeep the parts room while readily taking on additional assigned duties.

  • Understanding of working safely in an environment that potentially is near basic shop tools such as welders, torches, impact wrenches, saw blades, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment as required.

  • Assign support staff, for example, Parts Coordinator(s) with daily tasks and follow-up to ensure the expected outcome has been achieved.

  • Daily use of shop equipment (forklift and pallet jacks required to be used).

  • Replenishing of parts with Service Truck.

Job Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a CRST background check and drug screen is required.

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • Forklift experience or certification is required.

  • 2 years of inventory management is required.

  • 3+ years of Class 8 parts management experience is required.

  • OSHA and inventory management experience is required.

  • General mechanical skills related to Class 8 trucks and trailers are preferred.
